Mt. Fuji

Mt. Fuji is probably Japan's most famous and highest volcano. It is a stratovolcano and is continental. Many of the nearby cities include Tokyo, Yamanashi, Matsuda, and Shizuoka. The Volcano is very close to the Pacific and Asian plate subduction boundary. The most notorius and most recent eruption was in 1707. The height of Mt. Fuji is 12,388 feet. This is a dominatly basaltic volcano.
